SilkAir to Yangon

Yangon in September via Silk Air

Myanmar seems like such an interesting place, just recently opening up to the outside world.
Had a great chance to visit this country and so off I went to Yangon!

From Singapore's Changi Airport, took Silk Air on a 3 hour flight to Yangon(RGN).
Love the orchid garden at T2.
Always stop there to take some shots.

First time taking Silk Air and it was a really nice airline.
The Flight Attendants' uniforms were quite different, very pretty.
As it was only a 3 hour flight, they were doing a turn and headed back to SIN after RGN.

The plane is an older A320 with small dropdown IFE tv screens and no sound system.
Did not really bother me as it was only a short flight.
The IFE had some short clips like Mr. Bean which was actually quite funny and did not need any sound system to enjoy. :)

View of Singapore after take off.

After a drink service, lunch was served.
I had a fish curry which was really tasty.
Good precursor to all the Myanmar curries to come.
The alternative was a chicken pasta which did not look that good(seat mate had it).

Somewhere over southern Myanmar

Initial impressions of Myanmar from the air were that the country is so so green!
It would be different, I suppose, for the northern and eastern parts of the country which are more mountainous but that would have to stay for another time.

Landed at Yangon airport which is a nice modern airport, quite different from most parts of Yangon.
