Seattle to Narita via San Francisco on ANA Business

Seattle to Narita via San Francisco on ANA Business

Due to the unfortunate incidents with the Boeing 787 in the early part of 2013, NH 1077 from SEA to NRT was canceled.
I was then rerouted via NH 7 from SFO to NRT.

Pp looking at the lights in Seatac airport's main concourse.

On United Airlines flying over the Northern California coast.
So rugged terrain.

 Below is SFO international airport.

Since I was traveling in business class, I went to check out the Star Alliance lounge at SFO.
SFO is a United Airlines hub so UA runs the lounge called United Club.
Well, United Club was quite forgettable.
It was easily the worst hub lounge of all the airlines that I have been to.
The decor was quite outdated as well.
There was no hot food, only some little munchies.
Left the lounge after only 10 minutes.

SFO has one of the nicest looking international terminals in the USA.
Quite walkable and pleasant to look at.

The ANA check in gate was at the end of the terminal, down a flight of stairs.

This ANA flight uses a 777 with the new Inspiration of Japan(IOJ) interior.
All the business class seating have aisle access which is very nice!
No need to climb over people and no seat mates.
The downside is that the seat width is a bit narrow but it is worth the trade off.
Seats are also fully lie flat and the "mini-suite" feels very private. Very nice!

After take off, San Francisco city can be seen in the lower pic.

Flying north along the California coast

Lunch time!
Chose my favorite Japanese cuisine.
Love the food on ANA.
The food is always fresh and presented so nicely.

Very good service from the flight attendants.
Business class was totally full but they managed to do a great job.

After the meal service, the lights were turned down.
It is interesting how there are blue led lighting on the seat area.
Very nicely done.

I stayed up to watch some movies using the IFE.
Movie selection was fine though not as much as on other airlines.
Controls on the IFE were responsive.

The toilets also had those water flushing mechanisms commonly found in Japan.
Cute!

There was also a small setup near the galley, where pax can get basic amenities, drinks and snacks.

Lunchtime again, this time before landing at NRT.
Impressed with the food again.

Off the eastern coast of Japan, near Narita.

Great service, excellent in-flight food and seats.
Thanks again for a nice flight, ANA!
